Perfume Archive

Liminus oil-based perfumes are produced in tiny quantities.  An ephemeral and perfumed celebration of Tasmanian seasonality - a limited edition capture of time and place. Released four times a year (Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring) when the season ends, they're not made again.

But it's fun to peek in the archive.

Release #1
An experiment in December 23 (only 10 were made). This scent celebrated hot Hobart Summer days in the lead-up to New Years Eve 2023 with an oil-based perfume that featured a powerful Jasmine and Tasmanian Mountain Pepperberry accord.  SOLD OUT

Release #2
Summer 24 release was inspired by frolics amongst the Tasmanian lavender and lavandin harvest. A lavender top note was married with the rounded sweetness of honeysuckle blooms, coriander and clary sage.  SOLD OUT

Release #3
Autumn 24 was a hit. Selling out four batches with an unconventional blend of Tasmanian rosemary and dark sweet woods. Capturing the moment when the air shifts; the sea is still warm (for Tasmania) and mornings are crisp.  A warm woody base of Australian Buddah Wood with a fresh herbal palette of Tasmanian rosemary. SOLD OUT

Release #4
Winter 24 paired Tasmanian fennel and vanilla to captured a feeling of cosy cold.  Tasmanian Fennel brought sparkle and spice complemented with the cool mellow style of Australian Blue Cyprus. A scent to wear by the fire or in the snow, spiced and cool. SOLD OUT

Release #5
Spring 24 was herbaceous and floral, golden daffodils and wattle putting on a show, bud burst and the grass to mow...Tasmanian Parsley lent a sweet and familiar green note.  Rose and neroli hinted at flowers yet to bloom.  Amyris Wood provided a subtle and sturdy base for new beginnings and vibrant growth. SOLD OUT

Release #6
Citrus forward, Summer 25 was ready to dance in the sun with a Tasmanian gin cocktail. Juniper, citrus, the gentle warmth of Buddah Wood and a dash of Tasmanian rosemary combined for beach time, warm evenings and socialising. SOLD OUT

Release #7 - Autumn 25
Autumn is no longer in production, but the last bottles remain.  Spicy floral woods with the complexity of Tasmanian Mountain Pepperberry, Black Pepper, Amyris and Ho wood oil. A comforting scent for unsettled times. Ho Wood, the oil of peace, lends symbolic intent.

Our current release #8 is in production - Winter 25
Nutmeg. Spice. Gourmand.  It's a bit delicious and a little frosty. Nutmeg, cloves & cinnamon are lifted by the fresh sparkle of Tasmanian Mountain Pepper.  A perfume to accompany you through winter and connect you to the awe and introspection of cold winds and biting air. Enjoy a biscuit on your bushwalk.
