My Tasmanian perfume ethos

Liminus is small and personal.

A Tasmanian perfume studio connecting scent, people, place and memory. Liminus is also me, Founder. Maker. Optimist. Perfumer. 

Around 8 years ago, I  experienced a profound connection between perfume and memory.  I was lucky enough to buy a bottle of artisan perfume on a family holiday in France. I wore it every day - castles, hiking, golden evenings and village markets with small kids in tow.

Once I was home in Tasmania, each time I wore that scent I was transported to warm memories and magical places.  When the bottle ran out, I was slightly bereft...

I began wondering if visitors to Tasmania could experience something similar?

Very slowly, Liminus was born.

My ethos

I craft each perfume by hand, using botanical materials. Every perfume includes Tasmanian ingredients.  I believe that scent connects us to nature, it can slow us down and uncover the beauty around us.

My process

My perfumes are made slowly and I select materials with care.  I source Tasmanian botanicals and sometimes you'll find me collecting plants around Hobart.  I also work with small growers, women owned and Australian producers whenever I can. Packaging is minimal, refillable and a proportion of my sales is invested in the important work of protecting Tasmanian nature through the Tasmanian Land Conservancy.
